Preventing Dementia – Online Course

Dear Casey U3A Member.

We are pleased to be able to offer a new short course on a subject that may be of interest to you.

This is a MOOCs course (Massive Open Online Course) being run by University of Tasmania and it is completely free. There are no exams or assignments.

This course is called Preventing Dementia.

Dementia is now a leading cause of death worldwide. This key public health issue means that risk reduction is more important than ever. It is never too late to do something good for the brain and reduce your risk.

This course is suited for everyone – whether you are an individual with an interest in brain health, especially yours, or an allied health professional, clinician, aged care service provider or health policy advisor.

The course proper starts on April 24 and runs for five weeks for two hours per week. We at Casey U3A are offering the course starting on Thursday April 27 at 1.30 – 3.00pm (maybe 3.30pm) in the Craft Room. We recommend that you join the course yourselves online and then come to our class to review and discuss the program. We are also looking for someone to lead the class.
