FIDDLERS GREEN GAZETTE REPORT August 2016

The Second Semester has started and there is still vacancies in a few classes. The Reading German Poetry class would like more members, also the Chess Club on Friday afternoon and of course The U3A Choir would like many more members.

The first session of Golden Time Playgroup was a huge success with lots of Fiddlers Green residents participating. It was great to see the young and the not so young enjoying themselves. If you haven’t been there yet, come along and join in the fun. It takes place in the Auditorium on Friday morning from 9.30 to 11.30 twice a month.

Due to lack of floor space The Line Dancing group is full to capacity.

At the next Soapbox on Sunday September 25th at 2pm Geraldine Venderlinde will speak about “My time in Theatre Musicals” and Rob Farrington will share his “Memories of Woomera” Come along, there is a cuppa afterwards.

Friday 21st October is our AGM. Notices and nomination forms will be sent out this month. We need new committee members. Some of the committee have been there for years and need a rest and U3A needs new blood with fresh ideas. Please step forward to lend a hand.

As part of Casey Seniors Festival we will celebrate Seniors Week October 2nd to 8th Classes will be open to anyone who wants to check out a class and maybe put their name down for enrolment next year. The week will start with an Open Day on Monday 3rd with the usual morning and afternoon classes. There will be a sausage sizzle provided by Fiddlers Green Management from 12 to 1pm. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available from 9am till 4pm in the Residents Kitchen.

There is a Timetable for the Second Semester on the U3A Notice Board.
